What Chocolate Should I Use?
When choosing the best type of chocolate for this recipe, we recommend using good quality baking chocolate. You can use high quality chocolate bars or chocolate callets, which are small discs made by Callebaut.
We don’t recommend using chocolate chips for this recipe unless they are baking chips. That’s because some chocolate chips contain ingredients such as soy lecithin to help them to hold their shape. When these chocolate chips melt, the chocolate is often grainy.

Baking chocolate, also known as couverture chocolate, is much easier to mix and has a smooth appearance once melted. Depending on your preference, you can use white, semi sweet or dark chocolate. For this recipe, we’ve used a combination of white and semi sweet callets.

How To Melt Chocolate Chips?
You can either use a double boiler, or heat in the microwave. It’s quicker to melt chocolate in a microwave, however you run the risk of burning it.
If melting chocolate in the microwave, remove it to stir every 20 seconds. If using a double boiler, be careful not to drop any water into the chocolate.

What Strawberries Should I Use?
The most important thing is to use fresh strawberries with no blemishes. Large strawberries are best, which are red right up to the stalk. Leave the stalks on when you make this recipe.
Wash the strawberries before using them. Then, make sure that they are dry before dipping them in chocolate, by placing them on kitchen towel.

How to Coat Strawberries in Chocolate
It’s easy to coat the strawberries if you hold them by the stem. Twirl each one around in a circular motion until covered on all sides.
If you like, you can also use a toothpick inserted at the stem into each strawberry to get a better grip on them. Then, you can stick each toothpick into styrofoam before leaving the chocolate strawberries to cool. That way, you can serve them in the styrofoam rather than on a plate, which they might stick to.
You don’t need to cover the strawberries right to the stem with chocolate. The contrast between the fresh fruit and the chocolate is what makes this sweet treat so special.

Storing Chocolate Covered Strawberries
If you’re wondering how long chocolate covered strawberries last, they can go a bit mushy if you leave them for longer than a day. We recommend eating these chocolate dipped strawberries as soon as possible. T.
If you can’t finish all the strawberries in one go, place them in a sealed container in the refrigerator and eat the next day.
